Training Management & Being Passed Up for Promotions

By sharing these accounts of hiring bias (the tendency to choose candidates who look like you), our hope is that sponsors can see how drastically inequity hinders company success: It keeps less-qualified & poor-performing individuals in positions and deprives diverse candidates opportunities to help companies thrive.

The identities of AWD Members and their employers have been carefully removed for anonymity.

You can upload your experience, post a question, post an answer, request an edit.

Head in Hands

"It was the 6th time I was passed up for the promotion and had to train the new (non-Black) hire; who then failed, quit, and in some cases, were fired"

Context: This AWD Member was fired because they saw one of the executives take an assistant to a hotel.
