AWD Regional Event Guidelines
-
The purpose of an AWD Regional Event is to provide our members with an additional safe space (in their local community, separate from the AWD Annual Conference). In this exclusive space AWD members can be carefree and candid. The primary duty of the Regional Officer to ensure all AWD members feel welcome.

-
Regional Officers & Deputies, please email info@diversityinwholesaling.org when you and your region have chosen a date, time and venue for your upcoming regional event.
-
AWD Regional Events can be found on our calendar page.
-
Please choose a date that is NOT already in use by some other AWD function.
-
Please choose a date and time that does not coincide with advisor events you are hosting.
-
-
Official AWD Regional Events occur, at most, annually per region.
-
Infrequency helps members appreciate the occasion for its novelty, versus becoming bored with its normalcy.
-
Of course exceptions can & will be made.
-
An official event is one paid for, organized & promoted by AWD.
-
Unofficial gatherings of members are always encouraged.
-
-
AWD Regional Event total cost, including taxes & tip, should not exceed $2000.00 maximum.
-
High attendance count and major metro venue pricing may impact this.
-
To check RSVP count, click the event's "RSVP" button from the calendar page. Total RSVPs will be shown.
-
-
Avoid numerous, expensive bottles of wine...a common tactic used by restaurants to run up the bill.
-
Members should generally pay for their own alcohol.
-
AWD is a non-profit, functioning solely on charitable donations. Please mind costs even more than you mind your own expense account.
-
-
Not holding an event is a non-issue. Wholesalers are solitary creatures by nature.
-
All AWD Members & Alumni (former members) are welcome to attend all components of AWD Regional Events.
-
All non-members, including AWD Allies (sponsor representatives, vendors, and other non-members), AWD Aspirants (students & career changers seeking to become wholesalers), and AWD Members' guests (spouses, friends, family, etc.) are welcome to attend the "happy hour" time frame, in advance of a regional event. They must then leave, prior to the exclusive dinner portion of the event.
-
AWD Members' small children are always welcome to attend when childcare cannot be secured.
-
AWD Alumni who are advisors or managers of advisors, may be asked to depart after happy hour as well.
-
-
It is the responsibility of the regional officer to ensure non-members know they must leave prior to the start of the official event. Direct any questions or concerns regarding this guideline to 303-242-0948. 24/7/365.
-
Exclusivity is critical to our goal of a safe space for AWD Members. Advisors and other non-members change the dynamic of any gathering, by definition.
-
AWD Members are defined on our members page.
-
AWD Community means providing a safe space for our members that is exclusive to them.
-
AWD events are not zoos where our members are to be observed.
-
-
Encourage your region to wear their AWD Lapel Pins (received at any National Conference) to their regional events for use during photos.
-
Please take many photos and selfies!
-
-
In all things, please use good judgement. There's always an exception. These are guidelines, not rules.
